as PDF Due to tricky site conditions and planning constraints, this 2 bed bungalow had to be built on one level which resulted in a challenging building form with a high ratio of heat loss area to useable floor space. The design team successfully overcame these challenges resulting in the building meeting the strict Passivhaus standards and an average U value for walls, floor and roof of 0.08W/m2K.
